December 2023 ABOUT FIND FIND Food Bank is the Desert's Regional Food Bank and the Feeding America Member food bank that serves the Coachella Valley Desert area of California.
For over 35 years, FIND has dedicated itself to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, community involvement and mobilizing resources to those in need of food assistance.

FIND's team is committed to the equitable distribution of healthy food resources, advancing outreach efforts to ensure access to government food assistance and medical programs, rescuing safe and edible foods that would otherwise be wasted in landfills, and leading a community movement of non-profits and organizations committed to ending hunger in our region.

Currently, FIND feeds an average of over 150,000 people per month, distributes over 24 million meals per year, and partners with over 80
organizations to ensure that there are over 150 easily accessible free food locations in the eastern Riverside and south San Bernardino County areas.
SUMMARY of POSITION Under the guidance of the VP of Community Impact, the Food Procurement Manager is responsible for all the procurement and acquisition strategies for FIND Food Bank.
This includes the cultivation, retention, and recognition of government, donated, and purchased food products and management of the SB1383 Food Recovery Program.
The Food Resource Manager will coordinate the day-to-day activities for solicitation.
The Food Resource Manager is directly responsible for the development and retention of relationships with retail, manufacturing and agricultural partners, and local growers and service/supply representatives to maximize opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Establish and maintain relationships with the food industry community included but not limited to retail stores, agricultural businesses and corporations, distributors, and government entities.
Forecast and manage statewide food acquisition budget.
Solicit and educate new donors to the benefits of donating to the food bank.
Identify target stores by retail account.
Ensure strong and accurate communication is up to date and accurate for driver pick-ups and following donation guidelines.
Work with various applicable departments and staff ensuring the appropriate levels of inventory are obtained to support all programs.
Works in partnership with the Director of Operations and Manager of Operations to support their coordination of practical and efficient logistics and transportation for all donated and purchased food.
Work with the Manager of Operations to monitory daily inventory.
Work with the Director of Operations and Manager of Operations to monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
Create and maintain a key contact database.
Ensure and maintain an accurate product acquisition database, department reporting, and donor correspondence.
Provide accurate and timely reports to various departments and Feeding America as needed.
Create and routinely implement an onsite visitation plan for product donor relationship building purposes as well as ensure compliance with donation guidelines and policies.
Provide quality, friendly, and professional customer service.
Participate in community food advocacy and trade organizations as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
5 years of relevant experience in building and maintaining relationships with food suppliers, manufactures, retailers, producers, packers or equivalent relationship management building in similar industry.
A Bachelor's degree.
Additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Project management experience.
Proven ability to identify opportunities and broker win-win relationships.
Comfortable seeking and requesting food donations.
Full understanding of product handling and warehouse knowledge.
Excellent communication skills including writing and verbal communication.
Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Proven skills and ability to think strategically to achieve department and organizational goals.
Proven ability to use metrics to drive development decisions and achieve strategic objectives.
Knowledge of development best practices and the ability to apply them in innovative ways.
Ability to navigate and work across departments in a fast-paced, complex organization.
Ability and desire to relate to and work with various age, socio-economic, gender, racial and ethnic groups Meet FIND's requirements to be employed including ability to pass reference and background check.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License, proof of auto insurance on personal vehicle used, be insurable by FIND's commercial auto policy provider, and have reliable transportation for business use (mileage reimbursed by FIND for business use).
Must be available for occasional evening and weekend work as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Warehouse and outdoor environment, including work in coolers/freezers and in warehouse and outdoors with extreme temperature variance; extensive computer and phone work; responsible for safe use of equipment; driving, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing in excess of 60 pounds; regular contact with volunteers, agency representatives and clients; work periodically requires extended hours.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
