The Production Support Operator will be required to safely operate machinery with maximum efficiency while maintaining product quality and following regulatory and guidelines for sanitation and safety.
The operator will be responsible for the operation, changeover, care, cleaning, troubleshooting, detection of product or machine malfunctions, and adjustment as necessary, following the Operation Manual.
The right candidate should have a minimum of a high school diploma and previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility (food manufacturing experience preferred) or similar relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate machinery with maximum efficiency, while maintaining product quality and following regulatory and guidelines for sanitation and safety.
Operate the equipment in accordance with the Operation Manual.
Operation of the equipment includes machine set-up, operation, changeover, care, cleaning, troubleshooting, detection of product or machine malfunctions and adjustment as necessary, following the Operation Manual.
Meet daily production goals and requirements.
Perform all necessary quality checks following the Operation Manual.
Ensure that supplies (e.
g.
, packaging material, caps, hotmelt, lubricant) are properly filled in the machine according to the Operation Manual.
Ensure that all start and stop procedures are being followed correctly and run them according to Operation Manual.
Clear jams and keep the line running at a standard speed while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Minimize the creation of waste and rework.
Ensure that appropriate documentation and related reports are filled out correctly.
Ensure the machine is delivered in good condition for the following shift.
Report issues immediately.
Report failures or possible failures.
Handle test equipment and tools according to the Operation Manual.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma.
Recent Forklift certification Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility (food manufacturing experienced preferred) or similar relevant experience.
Understanding of production and plant processes.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to work with computers and do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and interpret documents (e.
g.
, safety rules, equipment manuals, procedures, production reports, worksheets).
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with structured methods.
Possess a continuous improvement and team-work oriented mindset.
Ability to make minor decisions based on standard working practices.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem-solve.
Good communication skills.
Ability and willingness to learn.
Strong sense of hygiene and cleanliness.

Working conditions:
Traditional manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, long periods of standing and/or moving.
Wet/dry and hot/cold conditions.
Working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors, lifting/carrying.
Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending.
Potentially working with caustic chemicals.
